I joined the district in August 1994, after graduating from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Music Education.  For 19 years I served as the Director of Bands at Woodhaven High School and Brownstown Middle School.
During those years, the teaching responsibilities at BMS were split between two directors.  I had the great fortune of working with three talented collegues that split those responsibilities with me - Charles Gross, Robert McMillan, and Bradley Faryniarz.  I am forever indebted to them for the knowledge and passion that they shared with our students, and the friendship they shared with me.

In the fall of 2013, I was afforded the opportunity to take over full responsibility of the instrumental music program at BMS, where I currently teach two beginning bands, a sixth grade band and a seventh grade band.

My home life is filled with a loving wife and son, and a rabbit (Thumper) who we rescued in 2008.  We recently rescued a red healer, Zika, who has been blind since birth.  This beautiful dog joined our family after we lost Seymour (a rescued puggle) in September 2017.  In my free time I perform with various ensembles in my community, cook competitively with the Red, White & Que Barbeque Team, and coach my son's baseball teams.
